Our experienced trainers can deliver First Aid at Work (FAW), Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), Paediatric First Aid, Emergency Paediatric First Aid, AED and Essentials of Baby and Child First Aid. Requalification courses are also offered.

The First aid at work training course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills and knowledge needed by first aiders in most workplaces to become a confident first aider at work. The course meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.

FIRST AID AT WORK REQUALIFICATION – 2 DAYS
The first aid at work requalification training course updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work certificate.
The HSE strongly recommends that you requalify within a month of your certificate expiring.
EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK – 1 DAY
This one-day course will help you meet your regulatory requirements if your risk assessment indicates that first aid training covering emergency protocols only, is sufficient for your workplace.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID REFRESHER/REQUALIFICATION 6HRS/1DAY
This 6 hour course is held over 1 day and is designed as a refresher training course for individuals who have previously completed a 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid course and who need to renew their Paediatric First Aid at work certificate..
This Paediatric First Aid Refresher underpins previous knowledge as well updating practical skills on CPR and highlighting any changes in guidelines It serves to refresh your knowledge, provide practice sessions and assesses competence.
Update training for Paediatric First Aid (2 days duration) must be completed before date of expiry of current certification or the full 2 day course will have to be attended again.
Upon completion candidates will receive a Paediatric First Aid Certificate which is valid for a further 3 years.
BABYSAFE ESSENTIALS OF PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID – 3 HOURS
This 3 hour course is designed specifically for parents, guardians and casual childminders who care for babies and children of all ages who wish to be provided with the essentials of paediatric first aid to cover common risks for babies and young children.
Please Note: This training does not meet the requirements of registered childminders who require a 12 hour paediatric first aid course.
Our trainers can put particular emphasis or cover additional content if required by the parents and / or guardians attending.
PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID 12HRS/2DAYS
This two-day paediatric first aid course focuses on emergency scenarios that face those looking after young children and infants, including day nurseries, private nursery schools, pre-schools, before and after school clubs for children in the early years age group, childminders and carers of children at home.
The course provides participants with a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Qualification which is a mandatory requirement for all staff working within the childcare sector.
What you will learn?
Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider.
Be able to assess an emergency situation safely.
Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child:
- who is unresponsive and breathing normally, including child and infant resuscitation
- with external bleeding
- who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
- who has a foreign body airway obstruction
- with injuries to bones, joints and muscles.
Understand how to administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child with a chronic medical condition or sudden illness:
- sickle cell crisis
- diabetic emergencies
- asthma attack
- allergic reaction
- meningitis
- febrile convulsions.
Understand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child:
- who is experiencing the effects of extreme heat and cold
- who has sustained an electric shock
- with burns or scalds
- who has been poisoned
- who has been bitten or stung
- with minor injuries, including cuts, grazes, bumps and bruises, small splinters and nose bleeds
- with conditions affecting the eyes, ears and nose
- who is suffering from shock
- with head and spinal injuries
- with anaphylaxis.
Understand how to complete records relating to illnesses, injuries and emergencies.

EMERGENCY PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID
QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency paediatric first aid situations which could arise when looking after children.
Who should attend?
Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.
Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.
Newly qualified entrants to early years setting who have completed a level 2 and/or level 3 qualification on or after 30th June 2016, must also have either a full paediatric first aid or an emergency paediatric first aid certificate within three months of starting work.

Defibrillators are easy to use and no previous first aid knowledge is needed to attend an AED course.
A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. A person’s chance of survival falls by about 10% for each minute that passes without defibrillation. This course will give you, your employees/members the confidence to act quickly and effectively. Most importantly, the course will also teach defibrillator operators how to perform effective CPR.
We can also provide bespoke onsite training tailored to suit your individual needs.

DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) & CPR COURSE
AEDs (automated external defibrillators) are proven to save lives and are therefore an invaluable addition to health and safety provision for your employees/ organisation members. Once one is installed on your premises we highly recommend you train personnel in its usage.
Our course teaches the essential skills that an AED operator needs and gives candidates the confidence to know what to do in an emergency.
