Swimming with infinity Swim Academy

Welcome to Infinity Swim Academy. We guarantee to provide safe, quality swimming lessons that build confidence and ability, using highly qualified and experienced swimming teachers at all times. Infinity Swim Academy is a Centre of Excellence and all our staff are trained to introduce, develop and consolidate Core Aquatic Skills, develop the four swimming strokes and create opportunities to ensure a lifetime of safety in the water for both adults and children.

It is important for all members of infinity Swim Academy to agree and adhere to our Terms & Conditions and Code of Conduct. infinity Swim Academy will view your booking and payment as your acceptance of these T&Cs.

 

Enrolment Conditions

  • Full Payment is required before the 1st of the month prior to swimming at infinity Swim Academy, with the enrolment/re-enrolment of all swimmers. A place cannot be confirmed unless payment has been made.
  • Payments can be made with Cash at the infinity Reception or by Card through our online Customer Portal, Card details can be safely stored for future use through Autopay, when prompted you need to ‘opt in’ to use this function on the infinity Customer Portal.
  • Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Demand can be high so prompt registration is advised.
  • All parents and swimmers must agree and adhere to the infinity Swim Academy Terms & Conditions and Code of Conduct. Your booking and payment will be viewed by infinity as an understanding that you have read and agreed to our terms and conditions.
  • If you/your child wish to take a holiday or a break in lessons due to illness during the agreed term of your booked lessons, you will still be charged for the full course of lessons. We also cannot guarantee to retain your place in that particular set of lessons.

 

  • Data Protection: As a customer of infinity Swim Academy you are consenting to infinity Swim Academy processing any personal data you provide as a result of enrolment/re-enrolment. Data will not be sent to any third party.

 

 Waiting Lists

  • There are a maximum number of participants for each lesson. Should lessons be full we do not operate a waiting list system. We will however do our utmost to find a swim session to suit your needs.

 

 Cancellations

  • All requests for cancellation of booked lessons must be made in writing with supporting medical evidence if relevant.
  • Cancellations received after 7 days prior to the start of the lessons will be subject to a cancellation charge of 20% of the specific term’s full booking fee.
  • If you cancel your place within 7 days of the start of the swim lesson schedule that you have enrolled and paid for, we will refund 50% of the fees.
  • If you cancel your place after the start of the booked lesson schedule, then no refund will be given.
  • If you decide not to attend infinity Swim Academy during the agreed term of your booked lessons, you must inform us in writing of this change prior to ending/stopping lessons, to avoid being charged.
  • Refund/credits are not given if your child refuses to get into the water or you change your mind.
  • Infinity Swim Academy reserves the right to change or cancel a course at any time. Arrangements will be made to reschedule where possible, if not refunds will be payable.
  • Missed lessons cannot be refunded or carried over to a future booking, but may be taken on another day if space is available using your Make-up token.
  • Any cancellations due to power cuts, adverse weather, disasters, terrorism, war and pandemics will not be refundable, as these are out of our control.
  • If you have an issue you would like to raise in relation to your child’s lessons, please contact infinity Swim Academy straight away, as it is more difficult to address these if you leave it until the end of your booked lesson schedule.
  • Private One to One lessons. Cancellation of any One to One lesson will result in the full lesson fee being due or being deducted from any credit balance as appropriate.
  • Should a lesson already be in progress or about to start and the pool have to be cleared for any reason then infinity Swim Academy is under no obligation to refund the lesson or part thereof.
  • Holidays – if you wish to take a holiday during the term of your booked lessons, you will still be charged for the full course. We also cannot guarantee to retain your place in that particular set of lessons for that course of lessons.

 

Medical

  • When you sign up to our terms & conditions, you take responsibility for the fact that, should you answer ‘yes’ regarding any medical conditions you or your child might have, you’ve checked things out with your doctor before starting with us. This responsibility is passed on to any other parent or carer who might bring your child swimming.
  • Medical conditions must be disclosed to infinity Swim Academy regarding the health of you, your child or those who you have placed your child in care with for the purpose of attending swimming sessions. All information received is treated in confidence and with sensitivity.
  • If your child has a heavy cold, sinusitis or an ear infection we recommend they do not swim. Refunds are not given for missed lessons due to sickness.
  • Following on from sickness we request your child be clear of any symptoms for 48 hours prior to attendance at class.
  • Adults and children must not swim if they have had a diarrhoeal illness in the past 14 days, as advised by the NHS.
  • If a swimmer has broken a limb, requires an operation or has been given a medical reason why they cannot attend the remaining lessons, then we will consider transferring the lessons to another time/date if we can accommodate this. This is subject to a doctor’s note being received. Only the number of lessons remaining from the booked classes will be carried over to another time/date if we can accommodate it.
  • Missed lessons cannot be refunded or carried over to a future booking, but may be taken on another day if space is available using your Make-up token.

 

Re-enrolment

  • Swimmers already having lessons with infinity Swim Academy will have priority on places provided they re-book and pay on time. If we do not receive your payment by the due date (1st of the month), then the place may be allocated to another person. If you have a request to change lessons, please contact a member of infinity and we will then get back to you with possible spaces.
  • All lessons are booked on a first come, first served basis. Infinity Swim Academy will endeavour to be flexible in its allocation of lesson slots. However, it may not always be possible to book or re-book your child’s first choice. Payment is due before the start of any lessons which is before the 1st of the month. You will be given the day and time of your/your child’s lesson on booking and payment.

 

Staff

  • All swim teachers are highly qualified and experienced and hold the relevant teaching and Safeguarding certifications.
  • We pride ourselves on our high teacher to swimmer ratio, ensuring your child will receive above average attention.
  • As some physical contact with your child is unavoidable all staff adhere to Child Protection Procedures and are Access NI checked.
  • Infinity Swim Academy reserves the right to replace advertised teachers or programmes where unavoidable.
  • If a teacher is unwell or cannot attend a session, infinity Swim Academy will endeavour to provide a cover teacher.

 

Pool closure

  • Pool closures happen on rare occasions, making it necessary to cancel lessons. If it is possible, we will contact you via the email we have for you. We will also post up notices on all our social media platforms as soon as it is possible for us to do so.
  • If the pool is closed due to a fault on our part that is within our control, such as pool plant failure, water heating, chemical or quality problems, then a deduction of the cost of 1 lesson from your next enrolment will be offered. If you are not re-enrolling for the following term, then we are unable to refund any lessons.
  • For pool maintenance closure for which advanced notice is given, you will be advised via email and cost of lesson deducted from your term’s fee.

 

Lost Property

  • Infinity Swim Academy does not accept responsibility for any damage or loss of property or articles left on the premises (whether being worn or left in the pool/changing rooms) or within the grounds/car park of the premises.

 

Parking

  • Unfortunately, our car parking space is limited. Please make sure you are parked in the allocated parking spaces only. Do not park in the disabled bays unless you are a Blue Badge Holder. Car parking is only permitted for the duration of your child’s/your lesson.

 

Responsibility

  • All users of infinity Swim Academy are to make themselves familiar with our rules and Code of Conduct. These can be found on our website and are part of this T&Cs document.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for their children at all times in the changing area, the waiting area and the entrance area. Children, whether swimming or non-swimming, should always be under the direct supervision of an adult and never be left unattended. Non-Swimming children are not permitted to play in the reception area, changing area, on the stairs or in Satori Wellness Centre.
  • By the very nature of a pool environment, our floors may be slippery. Children running on wet surfaces can very easily slip and hurt themselves. Children are not infinity Swim Academy’s responsibility until the teacher takes them for their lesson. Parents/guardians must supervise children at all times inside and outside the pool building and parking area. 
  • Parents should remain in the pool building when their child/ren is/are swimming.
  • No buggies/prams are allowed in the changing area, poolside or in the infinity reception area.
  • For the duration of your child’s lesson you must wait in the designated waiting area.
  • You may only view your child’s lesson on the screens provided in the waiting area. The foyer, reception area, Satori Wellness Centre and car park should not be used to view lessons.
  • In the absence of any proven negligence, lack of due diligence or breach of duty by infinity Crew, the participation of you, your spouse/partner, child or those in whose care you have placed your child for the purpose of attending or observing infinity Swim Academy sessions is done so entirely at your and their own risk.
  • Infinity Swim Academy shall not be held responsible for any personal injury or fatality that may occur.
  • Responsibility for all applications of swimming practised outside of the infinity Swim Academy lessons both now and in the future is borne by you and not infinity Swim Academy.
  • The recommendations, ideas and techniques expressed and described in infinity Swim Academy lessons/courses, as well as in books and videos endorsed by infinity Swim Academy cannot be regarded as a substitute for the advice of qualified medical practitioners.  Any uses to which the recommendations, ideas and techniques are solely at your discretion.
  • If you feel that lessons are not providing adequate progression, please raise the issue with us by way of a phone call or email and will be happy to discuss alternative arrangements or make further recommendations.
  • At infinity we are always happy to discuss any issue or complaint you may have with our service. Please familiarise yourself with our Complaints Policy and Procedures which can be found on our website. We will always do our utmost to resolve any complaint you may have.

 

Photography 

  • Please note that due to child protection regulations any photography (including camera phones) and video filming are NOTpermitted on our premises at any infinity Swim Academy lessons or events.
  • Any photography/video taken by infinity Swim Academy throughout the year will only take place by obtaining signed consent.
  • All infinity Swim Academy photography, logos and illustrations are the copyright of infinity Swim Academy (or credited party).  Any scanning or reproduction of any of the above without our written agreement will be regarded as being in breach of our copyright and dealt with accordingly.
  • Infinity Swim Academy cannot be held liable for the actions of third parties and, therefore, excludes to the fullest extent possible by law, any liability arising from a breach of this section headed “Photography” by any party.

Swimmers:

  • We recommend that swimmers should not eat for at least 1 hour prior to swimming.
  • You must shower and use the toilet before entering the pool.
  • All children should be toileted before entering the pool area.
  • Please arrive for the lesson on time.
  • Swimmers should not enter the pool area prior to the lesson start time. Whilst you are waiting for your lesson, please keep poolside noise down to a minimum so that all lessons can take place in a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
  • Only enter the pool (water) once your teacher has invited you to do so.
  • Listen to what your teacher tells you. If you don’t understand, please ask.
  • Swimmers must leave the pool as soon as their lesson has finished and should leave in an orderly manner.
  • The following action is seen as disorderly behaviour: running, diving, jumping, ducking, fighting, bullying, bombing, shouting and throwing items. You will receive a warning and if behaviour persists, we reserve the right to remove anyone in or around the pool who raises any concerns regarding the health and safety of themselves or others.
  • Swimming goggles, including those with ophthalmic prescription lenses are worn at the wearers own risk. We reserve the right to remove goggles from a child if the wearing of them causes disruption of the lesson.
  • To avoid injury the wearing of spectacles in the water by a swimmer during a lesson is not recommended. Care of spectacles is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
  • Jewellery can be a hazard and should not be worn during swimming, including earrings.
  • Appropriate swimwear should be worn at all times in the swimming pool and communal changing areas. Infinity has a strict ‘No Nudity’ policy.
  • Clothing and personal belongings should not be left inside changing cubicles but on the racks provided. Belongings left in cubicles will be removed to a rack by infinity staff.
  • We dissuade the use of talcum powder as it can be very messy and leaves a sticky/slippery residue on the tiles. If it is to be used, please use it sparingly and only while standing on a towel.
  • You are not permitted to open any cubicle door or curtain on any other swimmer.
  • During lessons parents/guardians must not interrupt or communicate with the teacher, distract the pupils or approach the poolside, unless it is a matter of health and safety, as you may endanger the safety of the pupils and other pool users.
  • Please ensure long hair is tied up or covered with a swim cap.

 

Pool Safety and General Pool Rules

  • In the event of any emergency the person in charge will follow the infinity’s emergency action plan (EAP).
  • All swimmers and spectators should immediately stop what they are doing and wait quietly for and obey further instruction.
  • Should it be necessary to clear the pool, when the instruction is given, all swimmers will move to the sides of the pool, leave the water and stand back from the side awaiting further instruction.
  • Should it be necessary to evacuate the building no attempt should be made to recover possessions from the changing rooms or anywhere else within the building.
  • Familiarise yourself with Emergency Exits, Fire points and Fire Assembly Point.

 

In the interests of Hygiene and Health and Safety

  • All swimmers must shower and go to the toilet before they enter the water.
  • All children should be fully toilet trained before we can accept them for lessons. (Babies and toddlers in our Little Ones lessons are the exception to this rule but they must be wearing appropriate pool nappies)
  • Do not take any food or drink into the changing rooms.
  • Glass bottles are not permitted anywhere on the premises and especially not in the changing room/pool area.
  • No buggies are permitted in the changing rooms, hallway or poolside, please leave them outside.
  • Shoes must be removed before entering the pool area or overshoes worn.
  • Used or soiled nappies should not be disposed of in changing room / pool/ toilet bins. Please double bag and take home.
  • Always change your baby on the floor using one of the suitable changing mats provided. Do not use any raised areas such as benches for changing babies. This is to prevent babies from rolling onto the floor from high surfaces which can easily happen and is extremely distressing for all concerned.
  • To keep the changing area clean and tidy and to ensure a comfortable changing environment for all users, please report any spillages/breakages/rubbish or excess water to a member of staff.

 

Changes to Terms and Conditions / Code of Conduct

From time to time infinity Swim Academy may update these terms by sending you either an updated version or notification of minor changes. You are free to not accept these changes, but we would ask you to notify us in writing of your non acceptance within 14 days of your receipt, failing which we will be entitled to treat our agreement with you as being subject to the updated version.
